Day 7 of 30 of the Faith in Action Challenge
Matthew 28: 16-20
16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Today is about taking your first step towards the great commission. Sure Prayer and loving on people is great and needed. If we stop there however, the kingdom of God does not grow. So for today start thinking about someone whom you could be a mentor to. However don’t go down that road saying I’m not ready or I’m not smart enough to mentor someone. It’s not about you! It’s not about your strengths. Moses believed he could not be a messenger for God but sure enough through his obedience to simply GO a nation was saved. It’s all about his strength through your weakness.
Who do you pick? It could be a new person at church. Maybe a new friend who has lots of questions about your faith or possibly it is a brother or sister. Whomever you choose though, for the love of everything do not tell that person just pray for them at this point. Pray for the courage and wisdom to mentor them in the coming weeks.
That’s today’s challenge, keep up the good work and feel free to leave your comments below.
